Things to do in Ubud in 2026 (artistic, design-forward and local)

As producers of Ubud Open Studios, creators of Toko Elami, and Ubud inhabitants, we want to draw your attention to some cool artistic, design-forward, fun and unusual local places that we don’t see on the usual lists of things to do in our beloved Ubud. Also, things change, so this the lay of the land as it is in 2026. We also run an Instagram channel for Bali event news you can join and a monthly newsletter that also includes upcoming events.

1/ One of our favorite additions of the year: Coca cinema/movie theater at Titik Dua. Ubud’s first arthouse/independent film cinema seats 52 people and has daily showings of Indonesian films as well as touring film festivals. An amazing way to get to know Indonesia!

2/ For exhibitions, art happenings and more, keep an eye on Ubud Art Ground, Ubud Art Collect, and Ruang Arta Derau.

3/ For art classes that happen all year round, check out Studio Gelombang, Devfto Printmaking Institute, and Threads of Life Natural Dye Studio.

4/ The team at Neuf Day coffee shop partner with the Ubud Film Lab and Darkroom Community so you can grab a coffee and get film developed. Photography buffs should also check out experiences at Gama Studio.

5/ and finally do an Ubud Story Walk (either central Ubud or the archaeological Pejeng one!) and visit our our favorite museum: the Setia Darma Mask and Puppet Museum.
